Family Business Owners ServicesAs a family business with a strong sense of responsibility, founded in 1922 and managed by its co-owners, Bank Gutmann provides targeted advisory services and support to entrepreneurial families within the framework of its Gutmann Family Business Owners Services.
FBO Services and Gutmann Award
Partnering with leading international business schools such as Harvard and IESE, our Family Business Owners Services (FBO-Services) regularly offer entrepreneurial families workshops and meetings on key topics that are critical to their success.
The Gutmann Award for the Most Outstanding Family Business in CEE has been created to honour model family enterprises in Central and Eastern Europe, to propose approaches to solving potential problems and to showcase successful entrepreneurial families. As an active member of the Family Business Network (FBN) – Austria, Bank Gutmann facilitates the exchange of experiences among family entrepreneurs as well as among first and best-practice multi-generation entrepreneurs.
Gutmann also supports family business as a founder of and active contributor to local FBN chapters in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in collaboration with FBN-International FBN (Family Business Network). FBN is the largest independent world-wide network for family businesses. Founded in 1990, FBN-International currently comprises 30 national and regional chapters in 59 countries with approximately 7,200 members.
Developments in CEE
Family businesses are one of the mainstays of sustainable economic development. In Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), family businesses are currently facing particular challenges. In a first comprehensive study of factors critical to the success of family enterprises in CEE, which included face-to-face interviews of leading business families, Bank Gutmann found that more than 80 percent of these companies will soon be handed over to another generation for the first time, but at the same time also identified a lack of local experience and examples of successful transitions.
