To this end, we have developed a special service philosophy: close customer relationships. Our objective is the preservation and value appreciation of your assets: the means include personal counselling and customised asset management. We achieve optimal results, thanks to our multi-disciplinary network of international experts.
Diligence and discretion for individual solutions
Trust, personal contacts and experienced consultants are the cornerstones of the Gutmann customer relationship philosophy. The culture of discretion ensures the best possible service, and we are bound by the highest duty of care. In personal advisory meetings, we work closely with our customers to devise the investment mix best suited to their requirements.

We are entirely focused on our clients’ interests, and over the years have developed high standards of service quality and competence in providing individual solutions. We do not deal in standard or off-the-shelf products. The pillars of our success are the continuity of support by our dedicated and receptive staff, solutions-oriented consulting and a clear and efficient organisational structure.
Total securities under management amount to over EUR 10 billion, and are divided between foundations, wealthy private individuals and institutional investors. Our private banking team began to specialise in providing services for affluent international customers in the early 1990s. In addition to our core Austrian business, we also provide banking services to private customers in Eastern and Southern Europe, in the rest of the German-speaking world, and in Latin America and the Middle East. In Hungary we have a subsidiary providing consultancy services.
Two factors are crucial to our consultancy philosophy:
- First, our process of taking the measure ensures that customers’ investments match their requirements and their risk tolerance.
- Secondly, our activities do not centre on selling specific products; instead, we identify suitable investment instruments, which may also well be third-party products.
Gutmann’s open asset management approach is built around a clearly structured concept. This combines the long-term experience in investment consulting of our team of Austrian and international experts with the latest academic research findings of the Gutmann Center for Portfolio Management at the University of Vienna.
An understanding of your personal situation is critical to recommending the right investment. The most appropriate solution can only be found by drawing up an individual risk-return profile. This means taking the measure as part of a structured advisory process. Individual strategies are regularly reviewed to ensure they are still appropriate.
